Can I Install Photoshop and Lightroom on new macOS Big Sur?

Adobe’s Photoshop and Lightroom for macOS 11 Big Sur is the most popular program for editing photos and creating great images. Previously, it could only be installed on the Windows operating system, but in recent years, the Photoshop and Lightroom are available on macOS and this makes us very happy. But recently, Adobe has started strange actions that make us think about updating products.

The most unpleasant news is that Adobe completely refuses to install previously purchased versions on new Macs. It turns out that 2 years ago I bought Adobe CC 2018, I will have to throw it in the trash, since its support is stopped. Even if you bought Adobe CC 2019 a year ago, you will not be able to install it on your new MacBook.

Adobe warns that it is too early to update your Macs to new macOS 11. Even the latest versions of Creative Cloud apps, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, or Premiere Pro, have not been created or fully tested on macOS 11, according to the developers.

The old versions of the packages – CC 2019 and previous ones-are guaranteed not to work on the new system.

In the recent past, Adobe presented its updated photo editor with a new Creative Cloud strategy, which involves paying for the use of the utility under new conditions. If before Photoshop was bought once and for all for $699 (the amount is already considerable), now you have to pay $20 for each month of use.

The official way to install Photoshop to Mac is simple — you need to go to the Adobe website in a special section, select a suitable tariff plan and click “Buy”. After downloading the installation file, you will need to run it, wait for the installer to complete the necessary work, and restart your computer.
